Vintage Add-A-Bead necklace, c. 1980s. Necklace is a 19" serpentine chain made of 14k yellow gold with a ring closure, as well as a box piece that comes apart so you can remove or add beads. Necklace weighs a total of 1.20 grams. The fluted 14k gold beads are as follows: 8 beads measuring 5 mm each, total weight - 0.58 grams; 16 beads measuring 6 mm each, total weight - 1.59 grams; 8 beads measuring 7 mm each, total weight - 1.05 grams. Total 14k gold weight, beads and necklace = 4.42 grams The lapis lazuli beads are as follows: 6 beads measuring 5 mm each, total weight - 0.90 grams; 22 beads measuring 6 mm each, total weight - 10.12 grams TOTAL WEIGHT OF NECKLACE, 32 FLUTED 14K GOLD BEADS, AND 28 LAPIS LAZULI BEADS: 15.44 GRAMS Necklace marked "14K" on clasp, "14K" and "Italy" on the store oval piece near the clasp. All beads have tested as 14k. Two 7 mm gold beads are damaged, as a budgie chewed on it(!!). See if you can spot them. All else in perfect condition otherwise.
